Schindler’s Ark, Brnenec

Preserving memory

There are places connected to history. Events are imprinted on the monuments, which remind passers-by of what happened. There are also places completely forgotten, where the memory of the past is lost. Brněnec, where you are now, sits somewhere in between.

Today, you only see the ruined body of a factory. And that is what it is. It used to be a factory where yarns, fabrics and hats were made. Yet, the factory and village of Brnenec is in the heart of Europe and tells its story over the last 150 years.

Why do you think it is important to save a monument? Give one reason why.
