Fodor Judit

Judit Fodor was born in 1934 in Budapest, Hungary. After her father was conscripted into forced labor, Judit and her mother were moved into a yellow star house in Budapest. In November 1944, they were marched to the Óbuda brick factory. Later, they were forced on a death march towards Austria. With the help of Raoul Wallenberg, they managed to get back to Budapest. They were placed in a protected house, where they lived until liberation in January 1945. After the war, Judit studied to become a lithographer and got married in 1956. They had one son who died at the age of 30. Judit's granddaughter was brought up by Judit and her husband. The interview was recored in Budapest, Hungary, in 2000.
