This IWalk, titled “Lines of Unity: The quiet heroism of parents during wartime,” brings together two stories of Holocaust survivors and one present-day Ukrainian fiction story based on real events from the Lines of Unity collection. All three are united by a core value shared by many families around the world — the safety of one’s family. The purpose of this walk is to explore how fathers, mothers, and other adults in different times, during different wars, sought to preserve their children’s lives, guide them through chaos, and save them when their worlds were collapsing. This IWalk is about the strength of parental love, the weight of thoughtful decisions, the family safety, and the quiet heroism of all who bear responsibility for children.
