The textile industry was thriving in Toronto at the time Anita and Aunt Sala arrived. Many immigrants found work opportunities there. Aunt Sala took a job at Paradise Dress & Waist which made clothing like the piece shown in this photo of Rosie Ladowsky. Aunt Sala was able to get Anita a position there as well.
